The Laxton Group has announced that it will be launching its latest biometric tablet at Trustech 2019 in Cannes. The Chameleon 8 Slap+ is built with the Livetouch Quattro Compact fingerprint scanner from Jenetric, which can capture four fingerprints simultaneously and is the smallest scanner to receive FAP60 certification from the FBI.
“The Chameleon 8 Slap+ is highly configurable and adaptable,” said Laxton EMEA President Nick Perkins. “As with the other devices in the Chameleon 8 range, the Slap+ will be released with three off-the-shelf configurations.”
Laxton’s multi-modal Chameleon 8 products are geared towards mobile identity verification and border control, and were designed with an eye to the European Entry/Exit System. The devices come equipped with cameras, passport and ID card readers, and MRZ and NFC capabilities in addition to the fingerprint scanner.
At Trustech, the Chameleon 8 Slap+ will be showcased alongside the rest of Laxton’s Chameleon line, which debuted at Trustech one year ago. The company has since expanded the Chameleon line with the release of the Chameleon D, which is intended for use with desktop computers.
Trustech runs from November 26 to 28. Laxton’s wares will be on display at booth H52.
