Biometric facial authentication technology company iProov has announced that its Verifier product is now available beyond mobile, in new hardware options including kiosks.
iProov’s remote identity authentication allows banks and governments to authenticate customers and citizens via a mobile or online app. With this latest announcement, organisations can now use Verifier to offer a secure verification option in low security branches or offices.
“Over 2.5 million people ‘iProoved’ themselves last year on their mobiles or desktop computers,” said Andrew Bud, Founder and CEO of iProov. “That same secure, effortless authentication is now possible on kiosks and fixed format screens. Our customers can offer greater accessibility and inclusion, while also pursuing new opportunities for delivering services in new environments.”
Verifier now being available in physical locations should enable greater access, as organizations can now offer secure biometric authentication to customers who are unable to access a smartphone.
Authentication at a kiosk is a straightforward process, as the user stands stationary in front of the kiosk screen as their identity is authenticated in less than 30 seconds.
“It’s incredibly important for users to feel involved in the authentication process, and we know they appreciate seeing it unfold on-screen,” commented Bud, adding, “It reassures them that the appropriate care is being taken to ensure they are who they say they are.”
