The International Security Conference & Exposition (ISC) is celebrating a successful ISC East event. ISC East ran from November 20 to 21 at the Javits Center in New York City, drawing more than 7,600 verified guests and representatives from upwards of 350 security brands.
The guest figure represents a six percent increase over the 2018 attendance. The 2019 edition of the show also attracted 100 new companies and brands to its aisles, making it the largest converged security show in the Northeast, according to ISC representatives.
“ISC East has been on the upswing for the past few years and continues to grow,” said ISC Security Event Director Mary Beth Shaughnessy. “Attendees left the Show with the insights and knowledge needed to defend and protect against new and emerging threats.”
To that end, the 2019 show offered new educational tracks to help guests learn more about the security technologies at the show, with talks that addressed topics like drone policy, smart cities, and IoT technology. The educational program builds on an ISC West initiative, and was presented by the Security Industry Association (SIA), the lead sponsor for ISC East as a whole. The ISC East iteration included an SIA Women in Security Forum to promote diversity and inclusivity in the industry.
New York City Emergency Management Commissioner Deanne Criswell and FAA Chief of Staff Angela Stubblefield gave keynote presentations as part of the SIA Education@ISC East program.
Guests at ISC East were treated to a wide variety of security solutions, with technologies that cover everything from video surveillance to access control to biometrics. For example, the Dutch manufacturer Boon Edam debuted a new biometric turnstile during the event, several months after showcasing a turnstile solution with HID Global’s iROX-T reader at ISC West.
Next year’s flagship ISC West event will from from March 17 to 20 in Las Vegas. Next year’s ISC East is scheduled for November 18 to 19.
