Biometrics News – Multimodal Biometrics
ImageWare is finally bringing its GoVerifyID solution to Mac computers. Now available for macOS, the flagship biometric authentication platform will allow IT departments to secure a Mac computer as easily as any Windows or Linux device.
The Mac version of GoVerifyID is fully compatible with ImageWare’s selfie-based Biointellic anti-spoofing solution, which was released in July. In that regard, Mac users won’t need to wait nearly as long for Biointellic as they did for GoVerifyID, which debuted in 2016.
ImageWare noted that macOS devices have become more common in the workplace thanks to the growing popularity of bring-your-own-device policies.
“In the past, if enterprises wanted to use Apple devices using macOS, they were either exposed or they couldn’t use them at all,” said ImageWare CEO Jim Miller. “GoVerifyID for macOS gives them the opportunity to not have to compromise anymore.”
GoVerifyID allows users to confirm their identities using a number of biometric modalities, including face, palm, and voice recognition. Its expansion to macOS comes after ImageWare’s recent announcement that it will be providing authentication services for Fujitsu’s RunMyProcess Digital Suite.
