Onfido and ForgeRock have joined forces to create a new Digital Access as a Service (DAaaS) platform to facilitate customer onboarding and authentication. The joint solution combines Onfido’s document and identity verification tech with ForgeRock’s CIAM platform.
Onfido’s identity verification tech uses facial recognition to compare a selfie to a photo ID to ensure that a customer or an employee is indeed the person they claim to be. The platform offers step-up authentication for high risk transactions, and can be easily deployed across an organization’s entire infrastructure for customers and employees.
The integration is expected to reduce call center fees for ForgeRock clients, and lower abandonment rates through a more streamlined enrollment process. Guests will have the opportunity to demo the new DAaaS solution at this week’s Gartner Identity & Access Management Summit, which runs from December 10-12 in Las Vegas.
“Disparate identity systems spread across many applications are proving challenging for many of our customers,” said ForgeRock Global Corporate and Business Development SVP Ben Goodman. “Offering a strong validated identity at the start of the customer journey not only reduces fraud exposure, but drives increased revenue from simplified onboarding experiences.”
ForgeRock is not the only company to adopt Onfido’s Identity Verification services in the past few months. Onfido has provided secure onboarding services for the b-sharpe currency exchange and the Agora e-voting platform, in addition to the blockchain-based Civic Wallet. The ForgeRock deal will allow Onfido to maintain its strong financial trajectory.
ForgeRock, meanwhile, has continued to form partnerships with a number of different cybersecurity and identity leaders. Yoti unveiled a new app for ForgeRock’s open source Backstage platform back in September, while BehavioSec’s updated Behavioral Biometrics Platform was integrated in November. ForgeRock also hosted its annual Identity Live conference in London in October.
