Biometrics News – Financial Services
Daon and Union Systems Limited (USL) have announced a strategic partnership that will bring Daon’s biometric authentication services via their IdentityX platform to USL’s customers throughout the African market.
Daon is a pioneer in methods for secure and convenient cross-channel biometric authentication. Their history of deployments include payment verification, digital banking, wealth, insurance, telcos, and securing borders and travel.
IdentityX is Daon’s cross-channel platform for digital onboarding and authentication. Its use of multimodal security – for example, having both fingerprint and voice authentication together – ensures its users’ safety in a world where information can never be too secure.
IdentityX has also been certified by the FIDO (Fast IDentity Online) Alliance for both FIDO 1.1 (UAF) and FIDO2 protocols.
Through this partnership, USL will be able to use IdentityX to offer its customers a multimodal identity authentication and recovery system with mobile capabilities. Customers using IdentityX will be able to register their identities in minutes, and then immediately begin using those same credentials for ongoing authentication. It simplifies the authentication and onboarding processes while still providing the highest possible levels of security using its multi-layered approach.
“Working collaboratively with Union Systems Limited, we will make our leading identity technology available to an ever-growing wave of African innovators, particularly those in financial services who want to reach more customers and differentiate themselves with a secure and seamless experience,” said Tom Grissen, CEO, Daon. “We are excited to bring our authentication and digital onboarding capabilities to Union Systems customers and expand our product offering throughout the African market.”
USL has over twenty years of experience implementing and supporting financial software applications across Africa, with customers in nineteen countries around the continent in the financial services sector.
“This partnership with Daon puts us at the forefront of the efforts by the regulatory authorities to combat financial crimes. Daon’s technology is cutting-edge and will redefine authentication and digital onboarding as we know it,” said Chuks Onyebuchi, CEO, Union Systems.
The partnership with USL expands upon Daon and IdentityX’s growing global user-base, with Innovation Finance in the UK, Turkey’s Akbank, and Morocco’s GEMADEC being among its clients within the financial sector.
