Alcatraz has hired Debraj Sinha to be its new Product Marketing Manager. Sinha previously served in a similar capacity at Qualcomm, where he worked as a product marketing manager to create the go-to-market strategy for that company’s 5G Modem-RF products and the 5G team more generally. Sinha has also worked as a software engineer at Cisco, Oracle, and Delphix.
At Alcatraz, Sinha will be turning his attention to the Rock, a contactless access control platform that utilizes facial recognition for authentication. Sinha will be asked to develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for the Rock as Alcatraz moves forward with the commercial launch of its hardware and software solutions. His other responsibilities will include marketing campaigns, customer messaging, and general sales support.
“Debraj is one of those rare finds of top technical skill coupled with impressive business acumen, and we are fortunate to have him leading our product marketing efforts during this crucial period for Alcatraz,” said Chief Revenue Officer Tina D’Agostin.
The Rock was built with an eye towards interoperability, and is designed to be compatible with any existing access control setup. The security specialist Boon Edam has already integrated the solution into its various access control products, which include turnstiles and security doors. Alcatraz has also partnered with Intelligent Systems Marketing to target Northern California, Northern Nevada, and the Rocky Mountain states.
“What attracted me to Alcatraz is their impressive work in artificial intelligence and machine learning,” added Sinha. “It seems logical that facial authentication be an integral part of an access control solution, but no one has been able to deliver a robust solution that works with any access control system until Alcatraz.”
Alcatraz was founded by a former Apple engineer, and received $6 million in venture capital back in 2019.
