Coinciding with this week’s Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMMS) conference, HID Global has identified some identity technology trends that are currently helping to transform the healthcare industry.

One is the emergence of Public Key Infrastructure, OTP tokens, and biometrics in healthcare facilities. While these technologies offer solutions for compliance with new DEA and HIPAA for EPCS regulations, their benefits in protecting sensitive data and facility access points are becoming increasingly clear to healthcare administrators.

Another of HID Global’s trends is the use of new technologies to administer remote care, such as electronic visit verification and emerging IoT solutions.
