With the 16th annual Biometrics Exhibition and Conference kicking off next week in London, it’s time to get ready for a number of new technology announcements and launches as authentication vendors from around the globe pack up and head to the UK to talk shop.
An announcement this week from Aurora Computer Services Limited has provided a preview of what to expect from the Northamptonshire facial biometrics company: a face recognition solution that can capture template information while its subject is moving called Face on the Fly.
Enrollment on the device takes two to three seconds, and once that procedure is done, the Face on the Fly camera uses its powerful wide angle lens to identify the enrolled every time she passes the unit. Aurora has it’s technology serving many verticals around the world, including law enforcement, education and government services. Face recognition technology is very popular in these areas because as a contactless, long-range solution it offers very little user friction.
The Biometrics Exhibition and Conference 2013 is sponsored by Cross Match technologies and begins in London on October 15. Aurora will be occupying stand W80 from the 16th through the 17th.
