“The new BioLite N2 is designed to provide the best reliable fingerprint matching performance in any environment, including outdoor installation and extreme weather conditions.” – HC Kim, Director of Global Business, Suprema
Among the many new product launches to come out of last week’s ISC West event in Las Vegas is a new access control and time and attendance terminal from Suprema.
Called the BioLite N2, it revolves around fingerprint recognition, with Suprema boasting that it can register up to 10,000 users and reach a matching speed of 20,000 per second. Each terminal features 4GB of memory and a 1.2GHz CPU.
While the terminal’s processing power is impressive, Suprema has also placed a strong emphasis on its ruggedness. The company says the BioLite N2 can operate in temperatures ranging from -4°F to about 122°F, and that it offers IP67 water and dust resistance. In a statement announcing the device, Suprema Director of Global Business HC Kim said the BioLite N2 “is designed to provide the best reliable fingerprint matching performance in any environment, including outdoor installation and extreme weather conditions,” adding that its matching speed is up to 200 percent faster than that of its predecessor, BioLite Net.
The BioLite N2 is one of several impressive biometric access control solutions showcased at ISC West, where biometric technologies continue to take a growing share of the spotlight each year.
