BioIntelliSense has found another customer for its wearable healthcare solutions. This time around, the company is partnering with AirStrip, which will be integrating the BioSticker and the BioButton into its own AirStrip ONE platform to track the health of patients at home.
The BioButton and the BioSticker both debuted in early 2020, and are able to collect a wealth of patient information. That information can then be consolidated and analyzed through the BioCloud, giving doctors more insight into the status of remote patients.
AirStrip, meanwhile, is best known as a developer of interoperable medical data solutions. The AirStrip ONE platform gathers and analyzes contextual information from multiple sources in near real-time, and doctors can use that information to make better decisions for their patients.
In that regard, the BioIntelliSense data will help serve as a personal baseline. Any deviations from that baseline will be more pronounced, so doctors can respond more quickly and proactively whenever any adverse changes occur. AirStrip noted that the need for good remote patient monitoring solutions increased during the pandemic, since COVID-19 made it riskier for patients and medical staff to interact in-person.
“The pandemic exposed the hospital’s clinical staffing and data deficiencies accelerating the need for new advanced virtual acute care delivery models capable of supporting clinical staff that provide care at a distance,” said AirStrip CEO Alan Portela. “Lessons learned in inpatient care will now need to be applied for virtual care as tele-health incentives at home.”
“Virtual care is driving investment and adoption of continuous health monitoring technologies that are on par with patient data collected in the hospital, to enable medical grade care at home,” added BioIntelliSense CEO James Mault. “AirStrip plays an integral role of bringing together BioIntelliSense continuous vital sign and physiologic data, along with other contextual insight, to optimize clinical workflow and deliver personalized clinical intelligence.”
BioIntelliSense has previously provided remote patient monitoring technology for several other virtual care providers. VeeMed and Aloe Care Health are some of the other customers that the company has picked up in the past few months.
