BioConnect’s Julia Webb-Twoomey is a member of the Security Industry Association’s (SIA) Power 100 class of 2022. The Power 100 was selected by the SIA’s Women in Security Forum (WISF), and is designed to acknowledge women in leadership roles in the security industry.
In that regard, Webb-Twoomey currently serves as BioConnect’s Vice President of Marketing & Alliances, though she has held several other executive roles in sales and marketing over the course of her 20-year career. Much of that time has been spent in the biometrics sector, with Webb-Twoomey making senior leadership stops at Visionics, Bioscrypt, and VoiceVault before moving on to BioConnect.
For its part, BioConnect praised Webb-Twoomey for serving as a mentor for younger employees, and for driving diversity and inclusion initiatives within the company. The company also celebrated her business acumen. For example, Webb-Twoomey is responsible for modernizing the company’s sales and marketing strategy, and has already managed to pivot the company to a digital-first approach that is better suited to the modern era.
“Julia is a smart, experienced and high impact leader. She has a deep understanding of where the security industry is and insight into shaping the future of security,” said BioConnect Founder and CEO, Rob Douglas. “Julia truly is a role model for the next generation of women & diverse leaders while being an incredible ambassador for the BioConnect Culture.”
“I am honored to be part of SIA’s Power 100 list,” added Webb-Twoomey. “BioConnect’s commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, innovation and leadership has never been stronger and I look forward to welcoming more women into the security industry and mentoring them to thrive in this community.”
In the past year, BioConnect has provided biometric authentication technology for a cloud authorization service from AlertEnterprise, and a mobile access solution from HID Global. The company also completed its acquisition of MedixSafe in September.
