Today, ENTERTECH SYSTEMS announced that, thanks to a new pairing between its BioConnect application and the Pro-Watch security management suite from Honeywell, users of the latter will now have the option of deploying Suprema biometric access control devices.
ENTERTECH is Suprema’s operating partner in the US, Canada, UK and Ireland, which means the the newly announced compatibility will include the BioStation T2, BioStation, BioEntry Plus, BioEntry W, BioLite Net and BioMini.
“It’s a relationship that brings together what each company does best,” says Honeywell’s senior director of marketing Alan Stoddard. “Bringing in the combined ENTERTECH SYSTEMS and Suprema advanced biometric technologies has really opened up the possibilities for our Pro-Watch security management suite, and we’re pleased to be able to provide our customers with such cutting-edge solutions.”
The BioConnect application is an example of technology that aids in breaking down biometric adoption barriers in physical access control. It allows for the management of templates and badges from a single window, reducing the amount of administrative friction faced in managing credentials on standalone biometric readers.
Flexibility is also a key element with the BioConnect application. The Suprema readers mentioned above are of course all on the table for use through the ENTERTECH solution, but with version 2.5 of BioConnect (released in March of this year), smartphones can now be used in a bring your own credential context.
Working with Honeywell, ENTERTECH has a relationship that will further ease the adoption of biometric access control.
Rob Douglas, CEO of ENTERTECH SYSTEMS, explains, “Our relationship with Honeywell will enable their systems integrators and end user customers to fast track and overcome three major obstacles to mainstream adoption of biometrics. Cost, complexity and user on-boarding are all addressed by our BioConnect integration application, which leverages Suprema’s leading biometric technology.”
Both companies are participating in this year’s ASIS International security expo in Atlanta, Georgia, held September 29 to October 2. Demonstrations of BioConnect will be available at booth 2511.
