As mobile devices play an increasingly prominent role in the enterprise, BioConnect is working on solving the issue of security.
In a new blog post, the company asserts that it’s working with major access control solutions providers like AMAG Technology – which BioConnect has worked with before, back when it was operating as Entertech Systems – to develop a new solution tackling this issue. The companies aren’t yet offering full details on this solution, but AMAG Technology President Kurt Takahashi says their “integrated application is a game changer in allowing the freedom of mobility without compromising risk.”
The issue is more pressing than ever. As Gemalto’s recently published Breach Level Index indicates, last year saw almost 1.4 billion digital records compromised in hack attacks, an increase of 86 percent against 2015. Mobile devices offer an important entryway for such breaches, and so it’s one that can be guarded more and more effectively with the kind of biometric security in which BioConnect specializes as smartphones’ biometric scanning capabilities grow increasingly sophisticated.
BioConnect says it will preview its new solution at this year’s ISC West security expo, where the company will be staffing booth #22075, so attendees should get some idea of just how game-changing it will be early next month.
