“Integrating EyeVerify’s technology is in line with BioConnect’s reputation for embracing new and innovative biometric modalities…”
BioConnect is bringing EyeVerify’s eye vein biometric technology to its eponymous platform, the companies have announced.
The partnership will see the integration of Eyeprint ID, EyeVerify’s flagship biometric system. It’s designed to use a standard smartphone camera to image the vein patterns and other micro-features in and around a user’s eye—biometrics that are unique to each individual. The system has generated a lot of interest in the FinTech community, and of course it could have applications beyond the financial sector as well.
Commenting on the integration in a statement, BioConnect VP Bianca Lopes called EyeVerify a “secure and frictionless” solution, adding, “We are proud to partner, and can’t wait for the possibilities that come with this as we, together, fundamentally change how we verify our identity in financial applications and combat fraud.”
Eyeprint ID is a good fit for the BioConnect platform, which uses biometric authentication in various applications, such as its recent access control deployments with a psychological healthcare company and a UK-based data hosting colocation company. Integrating EyeVerify’s technology is in line with BioConnect’s reputation for embracing new and innovative biometric modalities—the BioConnect platform also supports cardiac signal authentication offered by its biometric wearable tech partner, Nymi.
