BIO-key has scheduled a conference call for the announcement of its Q2 results. The call will be broadcast live online at 10am on Friday, August 14th.
In announcing the call, BIO-key made no comment on what the second quarter results are going to look like. But the company has previously indicated it has high expectations for the quarter; when its Q1 results were disclosed, CEO Michael DePasquale said that the company’s executive team “expect to demonstrate the strength of our sales effort in our Q2 performance,” noting that BIO-key expects to bring in five to seven million dollars in revenue for the full year. It would reflect a turnaround given BIO-key’s reported net losses for the first quarter, but DePasquale emphasized the cyclical nature of the business, and expressed optimism about new partnerships and the company’s new EcoID fingerprint scanner.
And BIO-key does seem to have been busy in the second quarter. It won a major client in the financial services sector in April, and also secured a distribution deal with IT solutions provider Avent. Moreover, the company got some publicity and word-of-mouth from partners showing off fingerprint authentication technology at this year’s HIMSS conference.
