BIO-key‘s big acquisition continues to pay off, with the company announcing that another new client has contracted the use of its PortalGuard Identity and Access Management solution.
The new client is Fore Aero, a Texas-based manufacturer of aerospace parts that serves the national defense and aerospace sectors. The company was looking for a flexible multi-factor authentication solution that would be compatible with Windows 10, and that wouldn’t necessarily require an internet connection, which is not available on Fore Aero’s manufacturing floor.
Fore Aero opted to use hard tokens for authentication, which PortalGuard supports.
It’s the latest indication of the value of PortalGuard and its maker, PistolStar, which BIO-key acquired at the beginning of the month. The biometrics specialist paid $2.5 million for PistolStar, and anticipated an immediate uptick in revenues upon the acquisition’s completion. It quickly went on to announce new clients in the academic sector which were interested in the PistolGuard IAM solution for Single Sign On and other authentication purposes.
Commenting on this latest client, Mark Cochran, the President of BIO-key’s PortalGuard business, emphasized the platform’s flexibility and versatility.
“Our R&D Engineering team takes great pride in developing IAM solutions that meet the unique security challenges of every customer environment,” he said. “Our team understands that each customer’s security infrastructure requires a layer of flexibility and customization to mitigate risk and incorporate best practices. PortalGuard IAM solutions deliver an affordable yet customizable solution, including capturing the organization’s branding within our authentication modules.”
