“It’s a testament to our technology and global brand to be recognized and selected by a leader in the IT communications industry from across the globe” -Mike DePasquale, CEO, BIO-key
BIO-key has won a new client for its biometric security technology: The company has announced that T-Systems, a Hungarian IT consultancy, has ordered fingerprint scanners and biometric identity software for a law enforcement client.
In announcing the deal, BIO-key indicated that the client opted for its EcoID fingerprint scanning devices as well as ID Director for Windows, the software component designed to integrate with Active Directory. Together, the solutions will allow employees to access IT assets using biometric authentication instead of passwords.
BIO-key says its solutions’ interoperability with other fingerprint scanners was an important part of their appeal to the client, which “already had several types of fingerprint scanners in place, but wanted to deploy fingerprint biometric authentication across the organization,” according to a statement.
Commenting on the deal, BIO-key CEO Mike DePasquale said, “It’s a testament to our technology and global brand to be recognized and selected by a leader in the IT communications industry from across the globe”, adding that the project “was totally managed using remote and online resources.”
The deal’s announcement follows other orders from clients in the financial services and manufacturing sectors earlier this year.
