BIO-key Brings PortalGuard to NASCIO Conference

BIO-key is hitting another stop on the October convention circuit. The company put in an appearance at Connect:ID on October 5-6, and has now moved on to the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO).

The 2021 NASCIO Conference got started this week, running from October 10-13 in Seattle. The event gives state-level security officials a chance to see some of the latest cybersecurity products, and to learn about the urgent threats that public organizations face in the current digital environment. Guests can also network with private developers and other public officials to find solutions that will help prevent data breaches and fend off cyberattacks.

BIO-key itself is a Corporate Member of NASCIO, and is attending as a bronze sponsor of the 2021 event. The NASCIO was set up to promote best practices for information management and cybersecurity in the government sector, and has listed identity and access management and risk management as some of its top priorities for the year. In that regard, BIO-key is showcasing its extensive portfolio of identity solutions, which includes its PortalGuard Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) platform. PortalGuard offers support for 16 different authentication factors, and can enable Single Sign-On and multi-factor authentication utilities.

According to BIO-key, state agencies should be especially worried about ransomware, phishing attacks, and compromised business email accounts. The company also brought PortalGuard to the National Association of Counties Conference in Maryland back in July.
