“…BIO-key is signalling that it will place a particular focus on its “most exciting announcement” – biometric padlocks.”
BIO-key is gearing up for this week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, promising in a new blog post to show off “biometric technology products that make customers say ‘Wow’ and ‘How did I live without this?'”
Those solutions include its new wearable dongle and its micro USB scanner for Android devices, which the company has now revealed to have an MSRP of $39.99. But BIO-key is signalling that it will place a particular focus on its “most exciting announcement” – biometric padlocks. In appearance they’re much like the kind of standard padlocks found on a high school student’s locker, but of course they feature embedded fingerprint readers and are based on biometric authentication. Available in different colors, they could signal another way in which biometric technology is making its way into everyday life.
The company will be set up at Tech East – Westgate, booth #2317; and CES 2017 will run from January 5th to 8th.
