BIO-key has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer. Barbara Rivera joins the company from a previous stint as the President & General Manager of Experian North America’s US Public Sector Division.
Experian is a company providing consumers with their credit reports and FICO scores, and as such has to handle very sensitive information in a way that is responsible and secure. In a statement announcing Rivera’s appointment as BIO-key’s new COO, the company asserted that in her role with Experian she “regularly addressed key issues around Multi-Factor Authentication, Fraud and Healthcare which complement BIO-key’s focus,” adding that she also played a critical role in establishing accounts with government clients—another area of expertise that could prove beneficial to BIO-key as the company seeks to expand its client base.
Commenting on her appointment, BIO-key CEO Michael DePasquale called Rivera “a proven strategist and change agent with valuable experience in operations management, as well as advancing business with key enterprise and government accounts.”
For her part, Rivera proclaimed that “there has never been a more opportune time to drive broad-scale adoption of biometric technologies,” adding that “BIO-key is well positioned to play a leadership role in the security industry”.
