BIO-key has landed yet another customer for its PortalGuard access management solution, announcing that Clearent, LLC will be using PortalGuard to replace its previous identity application. Clearent is a credit card processing company that annually processes more than $14 billion worth of transactions for upwards of 45,000 merchant partners.
With PortalGuard, Clearent customers will be able to enroll themselves in the Clearent system and gain access to online banking tools. The platform will also bring Single Sign-On functionality to the Clearent payment portal. The company will leverage PortalGuard for account recovery in addition to onboarding and authentication.
“Every financial institution manages the delicate balance between security and convenience to remain competitive,” said BIO-key Chairman and CEO Mike DePasquale. “The PortalGuard IAM platform offers organizations the ability to deliver flexible and secure solutions that scale without interrupting the customer experience.”
BIO-key added PortalGuard to its portfolio at the beginning of July, when it completed its acquisition of the platform’s original developer. The company has enjoyed breakout success with the platform in the month since, signing deals with several academic institutions before branching out to other industries. The most recent PortalGuard clients include the municipal government of Durham, North Carolina and Fore Aero, a Texas-based manufacturer of aerospace parts and equipment.
According to BIO-key, Clearent chose PortalGuard for its account management features and its affordable licensing model. BIO-key acted as a security consultant to help create a custom solution that would meet Clearent’s specific demands as a payment processing provider.
