BI2 Technologies is upgrading its ACCESS Background Check Program with the help of Daon’s Digital Trusted Identity Services. DTIS will specifically be providing fingerprint capture and channeling technology to facilitate more comprehensive background checks through BI2’s platform.
The news comes shortly after BI2 formed an ACCESS agreement with the National Sheriff’s Association, making the background check platform available to sheriffs across the country. The 5-year contract delivers ACCESS at no up front cost to the individual sheriff’s office, and will now include FBI- and TSA-accredited fingerprint channeling tech thanks to the DTIS partnership.
The deal should also be a boon for DTIS. The company currently provides fingerprint channeling services for more than 300 airports and airlines, with a portfolio that is heavily focused on the transportation sector.
“This agreement extends the availability of our highly successful commercial and aviation platform into a new market with broad geographic coverage,” said DTIS COO Brad Nickels.
“It will make communities across the nation safer, while providing better, more convenient services to the millions of citizens who need to get an FBI-certified background check completed.”
BI2, meanwhile, has been working with US Sheriff’s Offices for several years. The company has previously provided iris recognition tech for sheriffs along the US-Mexico border and in Richland County in Ohio.
