“FIDO continues to gain adoption globally in part because of a dynamic marketplace of certified products from a variety of providers, with each having passed through a rigorous certification program that provides assurance that they are functional and interoperable. Aware is pleased to offer some of the first authenticators available to be version 1.1 certified.” – David Benini, Vice President Marketing and Product, Aware, Inc.
Aware, Inc.‘s Knomi solution has received FIDO certification. More specifically, it is attained certification for compliance with the FIDO UAF 1.1 specifications, and is “among the first” products to do so, according to a statement announcing the certification.
First announced last autumn, Knomi is a mobile biometric authentication platform, available as a package of SDKs. It allows for facial and voice recognition on a standard smartphone, and was highlighted by Aware CEO Kevin Russell as an important area of focus for the company in its corporate update for that quarter.
FIDO’s standards, meanwhile, are proving increasingly important in the world of digital authentication, ensuring a certain level of security and compliance with other FIDO-certified products and services. Knomi’s certification could therefore open the door to some new market opportunities.
Commenting on the development, Aware Marketing and Product VP David Benini explained, “FIDO continues to gain adoption globally in part because of a dynamic marketplace of certified products from a variety of providers, with each having passed through a rigorous certification program that provides assurance that they are functional and interoperable. Aware is pleased to offer some of the first authenticators available to be version 1.1 certified.”
Aware will showcase its Knomi solution at next month’s Money20/20 event in Las Vegas, demonstrating it in the FIDO Pavilion.
