Aware has officially added Gary Evee to its Board of Directors. Evee will serve as a Class 1 director, and will act as member of the organization’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
As a member of the Board, Evee will be asked to offer his particular expertise on the subject of cybersecurity. Evee is the founder and CEO of the Evee Consulting Group, which provides corporate customers with advice to help them navigate their digital transformations and improve their security posture. Before that, he spent 22 years at IBM, where he most recently sold cybersecurity solutions for the mobile and financial services sectors as a leader of worldwide sales and business development for the company’s Cybersecurity Business Unit.
Evee also consults with various academic institutions, and helped organize the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ first Cybersecurity and Technology Diversity Conference.
“Gary brings a wealth of business and technology expertise and leadership, and I look forward to working with him in bringing our customers’ Identity solutions to life,” said Aware President and CEO Bob Eckel. “Through his entrepreneurship, cybersecurity and mobile enablement background, we’re gaining a great resource to continue to grow and expand our business in the mission of helping individuals Own their Identity.”
“It’s exciting to join such a forward-looking team looking to explore new partnerships and opportunities where biometrics can lead the way for securing what we do every day,” added Evee. “The future of Aware looks very bright and I am thrilled to be a part of it.”
The news comes shortly after the release of Aware’s fourth quarter report, which suggested that the company is beginning to recover from the initial impact of COVID-19. Aware’s fingerprint recognition technology received Level 1 and Level 2 MINEX III certification from the NIST in January, and the company has indicated that it is targeting public agencies with the release of its new AwareABIS biometric platform.
