AVer Europe has released a pair of new pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras that will make it easier to set up livestreaming videos. To that end, the new PTZ310N and PTZ330N models boast NDI Pro AV technology from NewTek that will streamline the typical production setup.
The NDI video standard is compatible with numerous different control systems, which in turn can be used to operate the camera hardware itself. It allows users to create their own custom workflows, and to switch between different feeds in a live production environment.
The smart cameras also offer robust facial recognition capabilities. The tech allows the camera to adjust the frame, or to track someone’s movements through pre-set frames without a dedicated camera operator. With that in mind, AVer Europe argues that the cameras are particularly well-suited for stage presentations at conferences and awards shows, or in an educational environment.
Other features include autofocus, 1080p/60fps image quality, and 12X/30X optical zoom. Since the camera only requires a single cable, it will eliminate the need to run multiple cables for each audio and video source and speed up production.
“This upgrade enables users to access a new range of event capturing and livestreaming capabilities within both education and business,” said AVer Europe Sales and Marketing VP Rene Buhay. “By integrating NDI HX2 with our existing advanced features in our PTZ range, we are improving Pro AV processes for content producers globally.”
The facial recognition features could be particularly useful during periods of social distancing. It reduces the number of people who would need to be on set to capture a presentation, and could support some of the virtual panels that have sprung up in response to widespread event delays and cancellations.
The new cameras are now available in the UK. The PTZ310N starts at a £1699 price point, while the PTZ330N is slightly more expensive at £2399.
