authID.ai is raising its profile in the financial sector through a new partnership with CU NextGen. The latter is a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) that supplies technology and support solutions for a roster of more than 40 credit unions in the United States.
The partnership specifically concerns authID’s Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) platform, which has already been deployed at one CU NextGen credit union and will soon be making its way to others in the CU NextGen network. The IDaaS platform includes authID’s Proof onboarding solution, as well as the AuthentifID and Verified authentication offerings.
With Proof, new customers will be able to open an account with a credit union remotely, through a process that leverages face and document recognition. In that regard, users will first need to take a picture of a photo ID, and then take a selfie. Proof will make sure that the document has not been tampered with, and then match the selfie to the image on the ID. The solution uses liveness detection to ensure the document holder is present for the interaction.
AuthentifID, meanwhile, is a FIDO2 passwordless login solution developed in collaboration with LoginID. Verified is similarly a cloud-based authentication solution that offers support for multiple biometric modalities. Together, authID’s IDaaS suite will streamline the onboarding process and deliver a consistent experience for those signing up remotely and in-person.
“We empower our clients to own their member and employee experiences by creating custom interfaces for new customer onboarding,” said CU NextGen CEO Kent Zimmer. “Strong identity verification and secure authentication is critical to that process. By adding authID’s biometric identity services to our platform, we can help our members reduce risk, deliver enhanced identity trust, and offer passwordless login for credit union members.”
authID was previously known as Ipsidy, prior to its rebrand back in June. The company provided Proof for BPSmart and On the Fly POS while operating under the Ipsidy brand.
