Identity verification provider authID has entered into an agreement with TurboCheck to deploy biometric identity verification services for the staffing and recruiting platform. TurboCheck will integrate authID’s biometric verification technology to enhance its digital identity verification capabilities for employers and staffing firms, building on the provider’s recent expansion of identity assurance services across multiple sectors.
The integration enables TurboCheck to verify candidate identities through document validation and facial biometric matching, with verification speeds of 700 milliseconds. The system validates government-issued identity documents like driver’s licenses and passports, matching them against user-provided selfies. This approach is similar to authID’s successful implementations with other partners, including its recent partnership with Berify for enhanced authentication services.
The partnership addresses growing challenges in the $200 billion staffing and recruiting industry, including AI-generated fake identities and deepfake videos. Last year saw 31,200 confirmed cases of employment identity theft or wage fraud. The rise in remote hiring practices has made traditional identity verification methods increasingly vulnerable to sophisticated fraud attempts.
“Biometric identification and document verification will have a transformative impact on the $200B staffing and recruiting industry,” said Rhon Daguro, CEO of authID. “This agreement with TurboCheck will instantly help recruiters reduce the risk to their clients associated with fraudulent applications.”
Emmanuel Toutain, CEO of TurboCheck, asserted that “authID’s seamless biometric identity and document verification was far superior in meeting our clients’ demands to verify valid candidates and weed out deepfakes and fraudulent identities with speed, precision, and accuracy.”
The implementation aims to provide TurboCheck’s clients with enhanced candidate vetting capabilities during remote onboarding processes. authID’s Chief Product Officer Erick Soto indicated that the system delivers “one in one billion accuracy and intuitive interfaces.” This level of accuracy builds on authID’s track record of providing high-precision identity verification solutions, as demonstrated in their recent $10 million deal with an AI firm in India.
authID, founded in 2009, has evolved through multiple iterations, including operating as ID Global Solutions and later Ipsidy, before rebranding to authID in 2021. The company is currently headquartered in Denver, Colorado, with 22 full-time employees, and trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol AUID.
