authID.ai is trying to encourage more companies to replace one-time passwords (OTP) with facial recognition. To that end, the company is now offering businesses a 14-day free trial of its Verified identity verification solution.
Organizations that want to take advantage of the trial can sign up online. Those that do so will be able to test the authID.ai APIs in their own development sandbox, and will be able to register 10 users and complete 100 transaction events before needing to upgrade to the paid version of the service.
The Verified platform uses facial recognition to compare a selfie to a registered biometric template. authID.ai argues that the technology is more secure than OTPs and other knowledge-based authenticators like traditional passwords, and can therefore help reduce fraud rates for people doing business in a mobile and remote environment.
authID.ai is also promoting its portfolio at Money20/20, which is currently underway in Las Vegas. The company has set up shop at booth #4709, while CEO Tom Thimot will be discussing public listing strategies during a panel on the Ignite stage on October 26.
“We use biometrics to enhance security with minimal friction for account recovery or password resets,” said Thimot. “We want everyone – from small businesses to large enterprises – to experience how easy it is to integrate our technology, and eliminate customer frustration and security risks due to one-time passwords and knowledge-based authentication.”
authID.ai was formerly known as Ipsidy prior to its rebrand back in June. The company has since provided Verified services for the CU NextGen Credit Union Service Organization, and added four new people to its Board of Directors. BPSmart and Xpressa Payment Solutions are some of the clients that started using Verified while authID.ai was still operating under the Ipsidy brand.
