AU10TIX said it has begun validating compliance with the European Union’s eIDAS 2.0 framework, working with TÜV Austria as a conformity assessment body as the region moves toward broader deployment of digital identity wallets.
The company described the effort as a regulatory readiness step for the next phase of European digital identity. In the March 5 announcement, AU10TIX said eIDAS 2.0 creates new expectations for identity assurance, privacy, interoperability and trust services linked to the European Digital Identity Wallet. Alignment with those requirements is increasingly a market signal as governments and service providers move from framework design to implementation.
The announcement does not amount to a completed certification, and AU10TIX did not present it that way. Instead, the company is using the validation process to show that its verification stack is being assessed against the compliance layer that will sit under wallet ecosystems and other regulated digital identity services. That distinction matters. The EU market is moving toward stricter operational and assurance requirements, and vendors want to avoid being treated as generic onboarding tools once eIDAS 2.0 procurement and deployment accelerate.
The timing also fits a wider shift in Europe. Elsewhere in Europe, EUDI Wallet adoption in Romania is advancing, and governments continue to coordinate European Digital Identity Wallet implementation ahead of looming deadlines. Against that backdrop, AU10TIX is effectively making a standards-and-positioning play: if wallet projects need vendors that can show progress on the eIDAS 2.0 compliance track, it wants to be in that shortlist.
eIDAS 2.0 is becoming an operational market force, shaping how identity verification companies message their products, structure compliance work and position for future wallet-related contracts across Europe.
The commercial logic is straightforward. As eIDAS 2.0 matures, buyers in Europe are likely to ask not just what a verification product can do, but how closely it maps to the legal and assurance framework around wallets and trust services. Vendors that can point to formal validation activity may have an advantage over rivals still treating compliance as a future roadmap item.
