Biometric and RFID security specialist ZKAccess has announced new Power-over-Ethernet solutions for access control. The new offerings are available as one- and two-door controller kits, offering a fast and inexpensive means of implementing electronic access control.
The aim of the new PoE kits is to get around the issue of labor costs, which can sometimes account for much of those involved in setting up electronic access control. With these new solutions, customers can install ZKAccess readers and panels via any local PoE switch, and all with a standard CAT5e/6 cable.
Commenting on the new offerings in a statement, ZKAccess CEO Larry Reed said that while his company “continues to drive down its production cost,” those efforts are “only half the battle” with respect to the customer’s bottom-line; but the new PoE access control kits “provide the quickest, easiest, and most affordable way to bring electronic security to the door.”
It’s the latest new offering in what has been a busy year for ZKAccess. The company has launched products ranging from a plug-and-play biometric door lock to a lockdown emergency access control panel, and also recently embarked on a partnership with Delta Turnstiles, which could soon produce more innovative solutions. The new PoE offerings, meanwhile, should satisfy customers on tight budgets who are looking for easy access to electronic access control.
