Biometric and RFID access control solutions provider ZKAccess has announced a new access control solution for emergency situations. Called the LB7000, it’s a “lockbox” system designed to effectively shut down the entrances and exits of designated facilities.
It’s basically a switch designed to be flipped in emergency situations: Mounted on a wall, its hardware allows an administrator to immediately lock all of the doors in a given facility. But it is programmable so that only certain predefined doors can be locked upon activation, allowing for a degree of customization to accord with detailed emergency planning. Administrators can also view all of the lockdown door groups on the LB7000’s screen and select which ones to lock in an emergency, hitting the device’s “Lockdown” button to enact the procedure, and pressing “Recover” when it’s once again safe to unlock the doors.
This latest offering from ZKAccess further extends the breadth of its product line, with the company having released products ranging from a plug-and-play biometric door lock to a license plate recognition system this year. Moreover, just this week, ZKAccess announced a new partnership with Delta Turnstiles, opening up opportunities in another market where technologically sophisticated access control solutions are in demand.
