Canadian biometric technology developer VoiceTrust and Dutch business app developer USoft have merged, the companies have announced. Their new company is called BioTrust, and will specialize in multimodal biometric authentication solutions.
In a press release, the new company’s new CEO, Patrick Dekker, was keen to highlight the expertise and experience held by both founding companies, noting that the merger “brings together over 25 years of experience in 10 offices, four research and development locations on five continents.” Even at its outset, BioTrust asserts that it has over 1.5 million users in commercial and enterprise applications spanning the healthcare, media, logistics, and financial services industries.
The company also boasts of major research assets including a collaborative partnership with the Computer Research Institute of Montreal; and it has major financial backing, with 80 million euros in investment, much of which having come from prominent Dutch entrepreneur Marcel Boekhoorn.
Looking ahead, Dekker says BioTrust aims to grow “through an ambitious buy-and-build strategy, which combines organic growth with acquisitions that will bring additional best-in-class IP, further strengthen our solutions in the finance, healthcare, travel and government sectors and drive increased overall revenue.”
