Today, Viscount Systems announced another two contracts to add to the many it has been racking up over the past year, allowing it to spread the deployment of its Freedom access control solution.
The contracts, both from the US Federal Government are to secure facilities in Maine and Florida. As is custom in these situations, the specific agencies being protected are not being named, as that would be counter intuitive to the sensitive nature of securing an important location.
In addition to the company’s Freedom access control solution, both contracts will see the agencies benefiting from Viscount’s VeriCert certification software as well.
“The opportunity to secure additional U.S. Government facilities speaks to the expanding strength of our Freedom product and also to the confidence these agencies have placed in us,” says Dennis Raefield, president and CEO of Viscount. “Whether it’s the cyber security technology itself or the fact that we provide a cost effective solution, we are showing time and again that this is a beneficial business relationship for both parties. U.S. Federal Government facilities are moving towards stricter security requirements and we will be their partner every step of the way.”
In April, Viscount announced two other similar government contracts in California and Louisiana.
The physical access control solution that Viscount keeps being tasked with supplying to various buildings in the US and Canada leverages existing IT infrastructure in order to make adoption of biometric security devises easier. As we explored in the recently concluded Physical Access Control Month here at findBIOMETRICS, accessibility is a major topic of discussion in the area of strong authentication in real life security situations.
