With a new agreement, South Korea-based VIRDI has integrated its biometric access control solution into HIKVISION’s video surveillance platform.
The new solution leverages VIRDI’s biometric technology to bring multimodal authentication to the HIKVISION iVMS-5200P video management system, allowing for a combination of fingerprint scanning, facial recognition, card reading, and mobile-based authentication. The solution is aimed at the enterprise level, and is built on open IT architecture aimed at facilitating easy integrations with CCTV systems already in place.
In a statement announcing the integration, VIRDI’s managing director of sales pointed out that it complements another recent integration with British access control solutions provider Paxton, and called HIKVISION the world’ “No. 1 leading enterprise for video surveillance”, suggesting that it all points to the expansion VIRDI’s already substantial presence in the global enterprise market. VIRDI’s biometric technology, according to the company, is exported to over 120 countries around the world.
