Virginia residents will soon be able to enroll for TSA PreCheck at the DMV.
It’s the product of a new partnership between MorphoTrust and the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, which will work together to bring TSA PreCheck enrollment to nine DMV locations in the state by the end of the year, with a tenth location planned for 2017. Citizens will be able to enroll in TSA PreCheck, and also to obtain the Transportation Worker Identification Credential.
TSA PreCheck is, of course, the biometric pre-screening program intended to expedite the security screening process for travelers at a number airports across the US. It’s proving increasingly popular, with rising demand having recently compelled IdentoGO to open temporary enrollment centers in major cities across the country.
The availability of TSA PreCheck enrollment at DMV offices should further serve to fulfill demand, and may even help to fuel it by raising awareness about the program.
