TeleHealth Contract Worth $28.8 Million Awarded By Department of Veteran Affairs

Telehealth solutions provider AMC Health will be providing services to the US Department of Veteran Affairs after being awarded a five year $28.8 million contract. The contract stands as a major expansion to AMC Health’s Government Services Division and will allow for a great improvement in quality of life for veterans.

In addition to providing the general benefits of telehealth: remote patient monitoring, a reduction in hospital admissions, expanded access to care and an overall boost in patient satisfaction, the agreement will also see veterans receiving biometrics powered electronic health records (EHR).

Biometric devices will allow for remote wireless monitoring of blood pressure, blood glucose, weight, heart rate, temperature and oxygen saturation via AMC Health’s web portal. The information can automatically update a patient’s EHR in real time. With all of these measurements being taken at once, the Machine to Machine (M2M) connectivity can allow for real time analytics as well as alert emergency personnel when there seems to be an emergency on the patient’s end or inform doctors when prescriptions are not being adhered to.

All required installation will be undertaken by AMC Health, who will also be providing the customer support via phone or in person.
