Precise Biometrics has announced that the Defense and Logistics Agency – an agency within the US Department of Defense (DOD) – has placed an order for Tactivo readers valued at 1.1 million SEK. The order was placed via TX Systems, a partner of Precise.
The DLA’s order includes Tactivo for iPhone. Tactivo smart sleeves are peripheral devices for iOS and Android handsets and tablets that enable smart card security for email and browsing. Designed for government, healthcare and enterprise verticals, Tactivo also enables secure VPN, document signing and other applications for mobile in high risk situations.
According to Precise CEO Håkan Persson, there is an increased interest in the Tactivo solution from the US government.
“We are pleased to see that DLA continues to scale up their usage of Tactivo for convenient and secure mobile access to information systems and resources,” says Persson. “The solution increases employee flexibility and efficiency, while ensuring a high level of security by utilizing two-factor authentication”
According to a press release announcing the DLA’s newest order of Tactivo, the associated 1.1 million SEK will impact Precise’s revenues for both Q4 2015 and Q1 2016.
The increased interest in Tactivo is yet another boon for Precise, which has been making headlines all year with integrations of its Precise BioMatch Mobile software onto smartphones thanks to licensing agreements with sensor makers like Fingerprint Cards (FPC).
