Precise Biometrics algorithm software – Precise BioMatch Mobile – has been integrated into a new tablet. In a statement announcing the integration, Precise Biometrics declined to name the tablet’s maker, but referred to it as ‘a leading Chinese vendor’.
The company also indicated that the integration is a result of a collaboration with Synaptics, a user interface and fingerprint sensor developer. Precise Biometrics has made a special effort over the last several months to seek out new sensor maker partners to complement its mainstay, Fingerprint Cards, and those efforts are evidently bearing fruit. Commenting on this new integration, Precise Biometrics CEO Håkan Persson said, “We are very pleased to be integrated in our first mobile device as the result of the collaboration with Synaptics.”
The integration is also notable for its use of Precise BioMatch Mobile, one of Precise Biometrics’ flagship algorithm software solutions, and one that has been essential to the company’s many smartphone integrations. Now, this tablet integration helps to illustrate, if only in an incremental way, its uses beyond the smartphone form factor.
