Synaptics Announces ‘Analyst and Investor Meeting’ for Dec. 12

Synaptics is planning to host an ‘Analyst and Investor Meeting’, and will webcast it live on December 12th.

In a statement announcing the meeting, the company indicated that it will feature presentations from Synaptics’ senior executives, which “may include information regarding current and future products and technologies, end-market trends, and the company’s current financial prospects.”

Such “future products and technologies” will almost certainly include in-display fingerprint sensor technology. Synaptics announced last month that one of its fingerprint sensors designed for under-glass deployments will be used in the display of a mobile device by the end of this year. Other biometrics specialists have also been racing to develop in-display fingerprint sensor technology, with Fingerprint Cards and Qualcomm having announced their own solutions this year, but none have yet been realized in a commercially sold device.

So if Synaptics really is expecting such a deployment of its own technology, it’s likely to be a key focus of discussion in an Analyst and Investor Meeting. The December 12th meeting will start at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time, and will be broadcast live through Synaptics’ Investor Relations website.
