Today, Suprema, Inc. announced that its biometric technology has been integrated with Genetec’s open platform, unified IP security solutions. The integration is big news for the companies, as it will see biometric devices from Suprema paired with Genetec’s Security Center platform and BioConnect 3.0 from EnterTech Systems – Suprema’s operating partner in the US, UK, Ireland and Canada.
Genetec’s Security Center merges IP access control and video management into a single solution. The new integration will allow for the use of Suprema’s BioStation T2, BioStation, BioEntry Plus, BioEntry W, BioLite Net and BioMini to be used by Security Center customers.
Young S. Moon, vice president of Suprema, comments, “This integration includes a wide range of premium biometric-driven access control devices that are suitable for indoor and outdoor installation, and will efficiently meet a wide range of system requirements.”
The inclusion of BioConnect 3.0 is notable in this integration, as EnterTech’s solution will greatly aid in facilitating the interplay between Security Center platform and Suprema’s devices, eliminating duplicate records and allowing for streamlined management of biometric capture. EnterTech has a reputation, thanks to its BioConnect platform, of breaking down the traditional adoption barriers in biometric access control. This will no doubt be a great benefit in encouraging Genetec customers to make the biometric upgrade.
Rob Douglas, CEO of Entertech Systems, says, “This integration through our BioConnect identity management platform is a successful example of market leaders coming together to enable easier adoption of biometrics. At Entertech Systems, we are purpose-built to help access control systems and end users overcome the three main obstacles to mainstream adoption of biometrics, including cost, complexity and on-boarding users.”
All three companies involved in this new integration will be exhibiting at next week’s ISC West 2015. Suprema and EnterTech can be found at booth #17101 and Genetec will be manning #10053.
