Biometric gate-screening specialist Securiport has announced that it’s now an INTERPOL World Strategic Partner. As such, the company has participated in a panel discussion at the inaugural INTERPOL World 2015 biennial conference.
The new security event is meant to gather together leaders from government and major international organizations so that they can work together to improve security in border management, supply chains, safe cities, and online. Speaking in the INTERPOL World Congress panel, Securiport COO Dr. Attila Freska emphasized the importance of infrastructure and technological investments in improving border security, particularly at airports. She also urged all interested parties to work together to develop a trusted identity check as a global community, and put forward Securiport’s Intelligent Information Management System (IIMS) and Integrated Immigration Control System (IICS) as solutions in this area, asserting that with its “advanced biometric identification systems, our IICS enables security officials to identify potential security risks and criminal activity, further strengthening the effectiveness of their security capabilities.”
Securiport’s solutions may have a particular appeal to leaders in the global community after last year’s outbreak of ebola in West Africa, where the company’s biometric screening technology helped to mitigate the spread of the disease. But whether it’s Securiport’s solutions or those of another company, the message will likely resound as more countries around the world look to biometric border control as a means of effective and efficient border control.
