SecuGen has announced another new biometric device to be unveiled at next month’s Consumer Electronics Show. Called the Hamster Pro 45, the two-finger reader is the latest in the company’s Hamster line of fingerprint scanners.
It’s a FAP 45 device capable of taking flat and rolled fingerprint scans. It’s compliant with the FBI’s Appendix F standard, and in a statement the company said highlighted its utility “for AFIS and other law enforcement applications.” The device also features the company’s U45 sensor, which is available as a standalone product for developers working on two-finger biometric solutions.
Announcing the device, SecuGen Sales and Marketing VP Jeff Brown called it “a milestone product” for the company, while Engineering VP Dan Riley highlighted its “crazy low price.”
The device will be showcased at CES alongside SecuGen’s new UN20 Bluetooth fingerprint scanner, and is scheduled to hit the market in the first half of next year.
