Saltrex, an online, business-to-business auction platform, has selected Jumio’s Netverify platform for customer authentication.
The Netverify Trusted Identity as a Service platform will be used to ensure that bidders and auctioneers are who they say they are, helping Saltrex to meet Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Customer requirements. Using the document reading capability recently added to Netverify, Saltrex users will scan government-issued documents, which will be compared to selfie pictures using facial recognition technology.
While Saltrex hasn’t yet officially launched its platform, the company says it has been using Netverify in beta testing. In a statement, Saltrex Director Michael Hajdasinski said the company is already “receiving positive feedback from potential business partners,” adding that Saltrex’s management team is confident that the system “will prove both popular and successful” once the platform is launched.
The integration could help to further raise the profile of Jumio and its TIaS platform, with the company having been named the Austrian startup of the year in the 2016 Central European Start-Up Awards.
