For months rumours have been circulating about the inclusion of multiple biometric modalities on Samsung’s 2017 flagship mobile device, and last week they were all confirmed as true. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ were launched featuring iris and face biometrics, as well as a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor near the device’s camera. Precise Biometrics announced software licensing agreements with two new hardware partners last week, while Synaptics announced a new addition to its Natural ID fingerprint sensor line, and Fingerprint Cards demonstrated its biometric NFC smart card tech. Looking beyond ISC West, FindBiometrics will be at the inaugural K(NO)W Identity Conference in May, and last week we posted an interview with Travis Jarae, CEO of OneWorld Identity, the host company of the event.
