As Healthcare Biometrics Month entered its third week we turned our featured focus to the topic of medical identity theft and how strong authentication technology is helping in the fight against health fraud. We also published an interview with ImageWare Systems’ director of Mobile Business Development, Tom Evangelisti,whixh goes in depth on the topic of healthcare biometrics. ImageWare is at this week’s’ HIMSS conference, an event that has been getting increasingly biometrics-focused over the years. Last week we also got a preview of what to expect at that exhibition from BIO-key’s healthcare partners, while a patient ID deployment and Safran’s new French health card contract rounded out the healthcare headlines.

Big biometrics news emerged from last week’s RSA conference as Nuance Communications and BioCatch entered a partnership that will bring the latter’s behavioral biometrics tech to the former’s security suite. Veridium was at RSA too, launching its latest solution, VeridiumAD, while Crossmatch used the event as a platform to announce that its DigitalPersona Composite Authentication solution is now certified for Citrix compatibility.
