Precise Biometrics has entered into a new licensing agreement with Zeitec Semiconductor Co., a Taiwan-based touch solution provider.
In a statement announcing the agreement, Precise Biometrics indicated that it would entail a per-unit licensing fee, as well as support and maintenance fees. The company expects revenues to start coming in this quarter.
Commenting on the deal, Precise Biometrics CEO Håkan Persson suggested that Zeitec will use Precise Biometrics’ Precise BioMatch Mobile fingerprint algorithm software with its fingerprint sensors, adding, “The cooperation strengthens our position as the leader in fingerprint software.”
The deal’s announcement comes immediately after that of another licensing partnership, between Precise Biometrics and NXP Semiconductors. Such partnerships are a key component of the company’s business strategy, as outlined in its recent year-end update.
