Last week at FindBiometrics physical access control and FinTech were the biggest topics, as we brought you live reporting from Money20/20 Europe in Copenhagen and ISC West in Las Vegas. Physical Access & Enterprise month kicked off in the featured articles section with a primer on April’s featured topic too, while FIDO, national ID, and fingerprints rounded out the headlines.
Here’s a look back on all the top news from the week that was:
Money20/20 Europe
Last week FindBiometrics was reporting straight out of Copenhagen where Money20/20 Europe was taking place and company president Peter O’Neill hosted a biometrics in finance panel. Morpho (Safran) was demonstrating its Scan & Pay solution that takes advantage of the MorphoWave contactless fingerprint scanning technology, Diebold was showing off its advanced Irving ATM concept, and we got a look at TOC Biometrics’ Approve app. The keynote stage was something to watch too, especially for those interested in biometrics and ID, as MasterCard went on record regarding the role of digital identity in financial inclusion and Samsung Pay revealed that more advanced biometrics are coming to its mobile wallet.

ISC West 2016
Meanwhile in Las Vegas, FindBiometrics contributing editor Darrell Geusz was reporting from the showroom floor on the trends in mobility, biometrics, identity, and security. The event, which traditionally helps dictate the conversation around physical access control for the rest of the year, brought with it its usual glut of announcements, integrations, and product launches. Suprema, BioConnect, EyeLock, SRI Identity, Fujitsu, and MicroStrategies all had their share of headlines.

Physical access wasn’t solely confined to Las Vegas last week. FindBiometrics launched our latest featured topic, Physical Access & Enterprise Month, with a primer. Over the next few weeks we will be taking an in depth look at biometric security in the workplace. Registration is now open for the webinar that will serve as the culmination of our April focus. Last week we also published a video interview with Rob Douglas, founder and CEO of BioConnect, and we reported on the latest security integration of VIRDI’s biometric tech.
