Biometrics provider Anviz Global’s partnership with Paraguayan distribution company Megapar Ingenieria SA has begun to pay off as the companies have wrapped up major projects this year in the South American nation.
Most recently, the companies worked to secure the newly-renovated Silvio Pettirossi International Airport with fingerprint scanning devices for access control purposes. Now all authorized staff must scan their fingers on the VF30 readers to gain entry to the airport’s most sensitive areas. Earlier this year the companies outfitted 27 different branches of the Sudameris Bank with Anviz’s EP300 readers to track employee attendance.
Both of these developments fit almost perfectly in line with broader global trends in the biometrics industry. Fingerprint scanners are increasingly being used for employee tracking purposes, while biometrics technology is finding its way into airports all over the world – usually for the purpose of screening passengers, but governments in general have a very strong interest in securing their transportation terminals, and fingerprint scanning and other such measures for access control are definitely of high value in that regard.
