Authentication standard provider Natural Security announced Tuesday that the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, Canada has appointed it the title of Privacy by Design Ambassador, joining an international pantheon of organizations and individuals dedicated to privacy when it comes to developing new technologies.
Changes that have been proposed to data protection regulation, along with the emerging ubiquity of information sharing technology, privacy is a high priority concern for everyone from consumers, to businesses, to governments all over the planet.
According to André Delaforge, Natural Security’s head of marketing, the authentication provider “became an ambassador because privacy is a key issue for Data Controllers, consumers and manufacturers. We want to pave the way for a better understanding of privacy impact in all organizations and hope to raise the global profile of Privacy by Design through our involvement.”
As an ambassador, Natural Security will become a role model in the critical arena of privacy by design. “Our modern day society processes and stores vast amounts of personal data, so it is essential that privacy is at the core of design to ensure this data is kept safe,” says Dr. Ann Cavoukian, Information and Privacy Commissioner. “Natural Security is making every effort to consider privacy at the forefront.”
